Speedometer/Tachometer Problem HELP!!!!
I have a 2000 Honda Civic Si body with a 99 Civic EX motor (long story on that) however my tachometer and speedometer does not work. I have checked the speed sensor and Im getting fire from that all the way to the connectors on the back of the gauge cluster but still no working speed/tach. I have ever tried swapping gauge clusters and that still has not worked. There is the CEL on, but i doubt that has anything to do with this issue. Can anybody else me out with this?
Sorry im not an ek person but i had this problem with my prelude, theres a 7.5 amp fuse under the dash for the ECU / ECM / Cruise Control check this fuse. ( it may be listed different in the ek )

Check the circuitry on the back of the cluster. Sometimes the mapping gets fried. And if it is use the rear defog repair kit @ a local hardware store. (The copper paint thing that fixes broken circuitry for defog.)
I checked all the circuitry on the back of the cluster everything looks good. It just blows my mine that the fuel and temp gauge work. I have just given it up and bought a 5 inch tach but now having problems with that I hooked it up but the RPM's arent being reported correctly. Is the wire from the distributor the solid blue?
Hey backyard I already tried replacing the cluster and it still doesn't work. Do you know what wire i need to splice into to make my external tach to work? I tried the solid blue and the RPMS were showing real low. I was driving down the road testing it and my car hit redline and the tach was only showing like 3000 RPMS. I tried changing the wire to the green with yellow (or vice versa) i dont really remember, but it reported a little bit more RPMS but nowhere near what it is suppose to be displaying.... can you help?

I already tired the blue wire are we talking about the set of wires on the top side right next to the distributor? or on the bottom side? When i spliced into the blue wire on top the RPMS were reading LOW. I was idling at like 200 RPMS and never got past 3000 RPMS at redline.
