Im thinking about buying a 1995 integra LS sedan for $750 obo
It turns over but doesnt start. The guy says it just turned off one day and he couldnt get it started again. What could it most probably be? Timing jumped a tooth? Cap/rotor? Would it be worth fixing?
Oh and it needs a new hood and sunroof
Is $500-$550 a good deal?
I know its a broad spectrum of possibilities that can be wrong with the car but any opinions are appreciated.
Are there any things i should do to test if the engine is good or not? Other than comp test?
Ps i know this is the civic discussion but im more comfortable here with you guys

Does it turn over fast or slow? if its fast 80% chance of bent valves for no compression. if so then no, not worth more then 200$ Imo. i got a blow 94 ex coupe for 150$ with a z6. Needed a new short block. 400$ i had a running car. but thats just my opinion.
It all depends really. ^ could be valves. But start with simple things. i.e Fuel Spark, if it has both of those then most likely something more major. Compression from bent valves, bad pistons ect. Is the body and interior in decent shape? If it is then i would say get the car and make it your project. Take a little bit of time and do a swap, paint it, get the interior looking good and roll it. Good luck let us know what you end up doing and if we can help out any more

If he goes for a low 450 man, go for that.
Even if the motor don't work, you can drop a 200-400 dollar d-series motor in it and it will totally be worth it.
Also, if he said "it just turned off", It might be the WHOLE distributor. Cap and rotor, cheap, yes, but It might be the internal parts of the dizzy.
It could also be the fuel pump and fuel filter (cheap replacement and easy to do). Either the fuel filter is completely clogged (ive seen it happen) or the fuel pump is faulty or clogged.
Either way, 450 is a good deal. My del sol was 6000 fully restored from a dealer, for me, a fully restored stock 93 del sol was a dream to come by. no accidents on its record, no problems, car ran like a dream when i bought it. So get it for 450, if the engine needs to much work, just buy a new motor for 200-600 (d series) and your good to go, especially if it comes with a d series, cuz its just plug n play.

Its an hour and a half tow for me and i still need to borrow a truck
I dont know if i should do this or just buy a fresh b20 for my ek ( cuz i blew my rings)
But if i do a fresh b20 in my hatch i STILL need a 4 door
So fresh b20 in ek hatch?
Or 95 4 door teggy with unknown damage?

last weekend my car just died too, it would turn over but wouldn't start, turned out to be the distributor. changed it and it was fine. cheap easy fix. i would get it
^^ x2.
You never know you could get lucky. I bought a 95 ej1 for 750 bux. With 1 owner(lady). Only problem was it wouldnt shift right. I instantly knew it was clutch. Bought it replaced clutch and flywheel. And wala.....its on the road. Everything work fine on car. And interior is 10/10. Engine bay is dirty but ill get to that eventually.

See how the body is sturdy, make sure its not rusted out what not really if your looking to build it up, idk how much more you need to worry about for 500 dollers ya no.
