Just thought I would get your opinions on the rims I painted today. Let me know what you think.

The wheels are ALT 180's a.k.a. Konig Monsoons.
And yeah that is the same order that I used to paint my wheels. I'm not finished with all of them yet but I promise I will have pics of them on the car soon!

I used spray paint from Discount Auto Parts.
I put on 2 light coats of Primer
4 coats of Gloss Black and
4 coats of Clear coat all made by Plasti-kote
The primer is the sandable kind and the black and clear were the engine enamel kind so that the brake heat wouldn't melt the paint off of them. As I said before, they are the ALT 180's which are the Konig Monsoon knock-offs.

I dont really like the looks of Konig Monsoons but yours look nice black. Good, cheap mod to an ugly style wheel

I hate to be the loser who makes a negative comment but....
I think keeping the lips silver makes it look too old skool. But, on a brighter note, you did a NICE job painting. Crisp and clean. But you should've painted the whole thing IMO.
Oh well.

if you want, duplicolor makes high performance wheel paint that comes in graphite, white, silver, or bronze. my co-workers buddy used them on his stock talon wheels and it looks really good. and all he did was use soap and water to clean the wheel, scuff the surface then painted it. he tried using a high pressured car wash gun to see if it would chip off and it didn't no matter how hard he tried.
i think i'm painting my 91 prelude rims graphite...what do you guys think??

my brother just did that with his gsr wheels and they look very nice. btw, anyone know how much professional powdercoating costs? just wondering how much money is saved by spraying yourself...
