Icon3 H23 Crank Walk Possible?

Put a used (106k was told) h23 in my 96 prelude, new head gasket, timing belt, tentionor, ect. 5800 miles later the belt snapped just crusing down the highway, just before it died the alt. belt was eating the timing cover, but it looks like the cover is on correctly and normal besides the new hole! After startinging to tear it down it appears the crank and everything moved up to a half inch towards the tranny! Even looks off down the timing hole, you just see the bolt heads, to time it you would have to look at an angle. I dont remember it being that way? ANY IDEAS? Is it possible to walk an H23 crank? How would that happen? What would cause it?

Crank walk is possible in just about any engine. It's not particularly common on Honda engines, but I've seen a couple of cases of it - once on an A20A and another time on an F22A, both with manual transmissions.

Yes it is possible, however when it happens it is on a very, very, very rare basis in honda motors.
