Default Civic owners, Anyone has had this problem?

Okay, New to the forum, I have a 1995 Honda Civic EX 2dr. I've seen especially in the K Vs B Series Article mentioned in the Super Street Mag [Btw, saw you guys mentioned in Super Street Mag, ftmfw!], and I've seen what Civics can do. NYCE'S1 has some pretty good Civic, especially a '93 Civic with about 900whp which was insane to me.

Now, looking at my Civic, which has plenty of sentimental value passed down from my brother in College who he and I worked day & night on just to get it running. Well, right before he leaves, he gets into fender bender. Screws the whole car up. The other day, I find out that the Head Casket is cracked, which is the reason that it smokes, and that my brother half-assed the suspension tune-up. He bought some cheap *** coil overs [Drop Zone] and nothing else! In conclusion, I love my Civic to death, but it bugs the **** outta me that I'm so far away from many Civics that are what I want mine to look like.

Screw my life story but to the question, Has anyone built their Civic ground up but when they got it, was a piece of ****? Thanks for your time!

Just look at the build up threads. Lots of then started from basically an empty shell.

The majority of people on HT have started with stock or cars that have been screwed up by the previous owner. Just have to do it gradually. Start with the saftey items first, tune up, brakes, tires, hoses, ball joints, tie rods etc. Once its mechanially sound you can upgrade. Just go slow, do a lot of research, and remember you get what you pay for. Stick to quality names. Buy OEM as much as possible unless youre upgrading.

Going through it right now, got my second civic 3 months ago and after a week @$$hole hit me with no insurance, finally replace everything he broke, and tuesday night this week she just died on me, have a swap scheduled for Feb. 2010, its hard to wait and take it slow when you love doing this but like Alphalanos said almost all of us have or are goin through this.

I totally agree with you bro. It's hard to wait repairs and tune-ups when you have a huge passion for racing. I see so much potential in my Civic that no one else sees.

We're pretty much all rebuilding our cars. Mine started out as running and being swapped, but it wasn't done right and had some underlying issues. There are tons of different situations, and you're not alone.

Yah i would say starting from where it is now and getting it to exactly how you want it just tops it off. More pride and love for the ride bro. patience with these kinda issues is hard because you have that picture of what you want it to be but time, money and other sh*t makes is frustrating. but all worth it IMO

i have. check my build thread if you're curious. I know it's not an eg or an ek but when i bought my car a year ago everything was ghetto rigged, broken, miss aligned or hacked. my **** wasnt even running when i got it, i had to fight with so many electrical gremlins first. but i think it's worth it, because if you stick with it, in the end you have something that's better than if you bought a new car
