Default CRX tranny question. please take a look.

I am looking for a cheap way to be faster. I am looking to but a better geared tranny on my 91 crx HF. Does anyone know the gear ratios from that tranny? Or somewhere that shows me the ratios?? Im wondering if the civic's have better geared tranny, or if the crx SI has a better geared tranny. Most junk yards have a different tranny, so it would be sweet for me to do this. My tranny had such big gears right now.
I searched. If anyone knows Let me know. Thanx in advace.

yeah you could use a crx or hatch SI tranny. but its a waste of time and money. it wont make you that much faster. if its a low budget situation then shoot for the whole Si motor and tranny. keep in mind you have one of the hardest cars to wire due to the dual port injection.

u wrong
the HF has the same wiring as the Si and its MPFI
and by changing he tranny's u dont need to wire anything...... just the reverse sensro

Actually the HF would be the easiest to swap. It is already mpfi. The DX and Si are both geared better than the HF. The problem is the HF only has 62 hp. That being said you can probably pick up an Si motor and tranny for a few hundred bucks. That would take you to 108 hp and make you considerably faster.

yeah. that sounds better. I am going to look into a si motor and tranny. Now, would that be a drop it? I put a gsr motor in a 92 civic, and I rewired it all, so I know how, but would I have to do that or not??
And would it be better to drop in a ZC motor instead?

The ZC or Si would both drop right in. The ZC would require rewiring the distributor. The Si would be a plug and play. If you use a ZC tranny you would have to get creative with the axles. Let us know if you have any further questions.

OK. thanx. Im just going to get an SI motor and trans. Do I need to pick up the SI ecu too?? Or will my stock computer run that just fin? I just bought brand new axles, and I want to still use them. So the SI motor is my choice. And any thing more than 62 hp would be awesom. hahaha. Thank you so much.

Does the HF have the same sized hubs as the Si?
