quiet exhausts?
so ive had my turbo setup for about a year and i have no complaints at all, but im looking to go all natural, stroker engine, lsd, stuff like that while my car sits for the winter. tryin to make it more like a sleeper. im currently running basically a straight pipe with a tip on the end cause i gained about 5 horse on the dyno without the muffler, and it sounds like a crop duster coming down the road haha. but now that im getting rid of the turbo im looking for a quiet exhaust that still sounds good when u get on it but isnt loud when ur just drivin around town. if uve ever herd a corvette like that, u can only hear em when u get on em. but i dont want that fart can sound either like so many hondas have. does anyone have any suggestions, from experience?
There are quite a few quiet exhaust systems out there. The Greddy SP2, Evo2, Spectrum Elite, Apex world sport, Tanabe hyper, touring, Stock integra type R, It just has to have a resonator and a decent size muffler at the end.
I've owned a few exhaust systems, and the GReddy sp, and APEXi world sport are the quietest. I've owned 2 GReddy evos, and they are both real deep, and 350z ish at cruising speeds, but when you get on the gas, after 4k r.p.m. the intake shines right through. the sp, cruising to 8k5 r.p.m. intake really shines, with just a slight hint of rasp(with header) at the top. Hope this helps
Not sure why you want to get rid of your turbo setup, I would just by a quiet exhaust and call it a day.
I have an Apexi ws2 like the others and it is pretty awesome, super quiet.

Twin loop FTW...I've got a Hytech and love it.
Current setup is:
Rage Header, 2.5in piping, 2.5in Carsound high-flow cat, 14in Magnaflow resonator, and the Hytech twin loop. Absolutely NO drone, and it has a nice sound when you're accelerating.
The only problem with Hytech is that while their work is top notch, getting a hold of them is not. And you can expect to wait at least 3 weeks to get it. Also, I would stay away from brands like SNL and OBX for twin loops. While they're 1/4 of the cost, they will burn out and get really loud in less than a year. I had an SNL, and replaced it with the Hytech.

It took john awhile to get my exhaust done, but his work is awesome. I also had a SNL and had to cut it open and repack it with 3 motorcycle muffler repacking kits which lasted much much longer then the material they used to begin with.
quiet yes but i've always preferred the greddy since they cost similar and greddy uses 100% stainless in their cat backs. apexi uses coated mild steel for the tubing. the hytech twin loop would be wonderful if it wasn't twice the cost
