Default B20 vtec results inside, finally happy

Been working with this car for a few times on the dyno, had some issues to sort out with some certain parts but we feel we have a pretty stout combo going on now.

Car has been to me about 4 times and we hit a point where we just could not get past a certain power level, well today we broke it, we what was one of my most prize posessions and it really threw us for a loop at first but came back around and put smiles on all our faces

Setup:

-84X89 bottom end
-11.8:1 pistons
-ITR head
-BLOX type C cams
-RC 370cc injectors
-Stock port ITR head
-Pro Products 68mm T/B
-Hytech Replica header
-AIR/endyne Carbon intake manifold
-GSR tranny with LSD
-shorty exhuast very short, and loud
-93 octane gas
-S100 tuning by me

**had a hair of a misfire as you can see on the graph, gonna swap in some new plugs and toss on my new RPM pickup and see how she looks before we start setting up the suspension and heading to the track

We must have had 3 sets of cams, and maybe 4 intake manifolds on the car and had it back on the dyno maybe 5 times in a months time, car pretty much stayed at the shop all the time, LOL. We were just hitting a brick wall, we would put on an intake manifold retune all day just to hit the same power level or within 1 HP or so, then swap more cams, and retune and just ended up back at square 1 all over. We would pick up midrange but drop peak and top end, or pick up top end but not by much and drop a butt load of mid power.

So i decided to take it to the track and run the 1/8th mile with a low 220s tune, this was the first time I had ever driven the car(it had only the upper 3 mounts and we didnt have time to toss on the traction bar) and I ran a best of 7.97@82.5mph I was shocked.

We are gonna make some suspension adjustment, put the traciton bar back on and get all 5 mounts in the car and see how she does this weekend.

your vtec transition looks a tad harsh. just a hair...try pulling it back a few hundred rpm?

we tried, beleive me. I still have a few more things I wanna try. we started vtec off and tuned the low cam as far as she would go then engaged vtec from 4400 on and tuned from there, overlayed the 2 graphs and vtec looked pretty good at 5700, any earlier it would have an alomst 20hp straight up step.

we then made an exhaust change and it made a world of difference and we havent changed it since then. like I said I wanna try a few more things and see what she does.

We probably have over 100 dyno pulls on this motor easily. and she hasnt seemed to even be bothered one bit.

Put the traction bar on, put the right tune in it, and go run some mid 7s!
