b16a vs. GSR for turbo
Hi I am planning my first Turbo setup. Right now I have a JDM b16A in good shape with the LSD trans. I am aware that the GSR engine is a little better for boost... Both are similar but the B18 seems to have better cams for turbo, is a little stronger and will provide a slightly better power band.
Worth it to upgrade to b18c1? Not that hard, but adds some PITA factor. Could do LSVtec, but that would make things too complicated at this point.
Using peakboost style kit, with disco potato (GT28RS) turbo. Also, is there much of a benefit to upgrading to an inline pro log manifold over the ram horn?
Looking for 300 WHP, decent reliability, nice power band. Few road course days per year, running full size rad, and an oil cooler. Both engines and manifolds will obviously work, just wondering if these upgrades are worth the extra time and money... Thanks!

I would just keep the B16 and IMO the ramhorn is a better manifold then the log. All you need to do is swap some gsr cams into your head and your basically running the same thing, just missing some displacement and a few tq numbers. 300whp is easy to get with a decent tune and a good setup and still be safe/reliable.

it all depends on your power goals and your budget
no replacement for displacement as long as you can put that power to the ground
in your case you are probably better off keeping the b16 and doing headwork to make the extra power (itr cams and valvetrain would be perfect)
and ramhorn is better than the cast manifold in almost every way

I say stick with the b16. It can make just as much power as a gsr. I would spend the money somewhere else. Theres a thread on here somewhere with a list of the highest hp stock motors. The b16 has the highest figures
