Default Price Advice

So I've been looking at ep3's the last month or so and I think I've decided to buy one. Now, every dealer price I've seen is about $10,995 for 02-04's with around 70K miles. Kelly blue book says $10,599 excellent condition. Obviously i'm not going to pay the dealer's asking price.

So my question is:
What do you think I can get a (clean) bone stock 04 ep3 with 80K miles for? My guess was probably around $8,500. I'm going to look at that one tonight, so any input is helpful. thanks

I've been seeing them go for well under 8k on craigslist, & autotrader.com; better to buy from a private seller in this economy, people need the money... Seen many w/ around or under 70k... Do a carfax report/run the vin# for history & your good to go. Just my 2 cent, good luck with your search.

Don't feel too bad. I have a buddy that rushed into getting his 06 si in 07 because he "had to have it" & ended up driving it off the lot paying $30k! My friends & I bash him everyday for it lol.

kobeballer96:

I would've drove to where ever you lived to buy it ahaha, I THINK I might have seen you ad on craigslist though...

nahonda04:

That's what's up, that's how you do it! Earlier this year I bought an sohc 88 Crx for $1k & resold it for $5k! True story.

In 2007 I paid $15000 for my really clean 2003 EP3 with 33K miles. At the time they were in decent demand and that was what they were going for.

Meh, I'm not really complaining about it. It was basically a brand new car with full vehicle history, and it only had 12k miles!! The thing was mint. Er...still is mint.

Thanks ya'll. So i went to check it out last night. Basically it was an 04 blue ep3 with a shott ebay muffler and a PVC intake....The dealer and the financial manager pushed HARD on $10,100. Just awesome salesman banter. I wasn't having any of that, at all.

SO, i'm checking out an 02 RSX-S for 9,900 after work today. Hopefully its in good shape

it is probably better to buy from a private party since they'll be less likely to rip you off (and you can probably bargain a little better). however, a carfax and vin check may not be enough to know the full extent of the condition of your car. i would recommend getting it professionally inspected by one of those car inspection companies found on google (aim mobile inspections and carchex are popular ones). it's a small price to pay for knowing the true nature of the car. but that's just my two cents for you. good luck with the car!

You didn't pop the hizzy before you bought it?

But congrats on the purchase
