new clutch burning?

Default new clutch burning?

i jus recently put in a comptetition stage 3 six puck clutch that was very lightly used in my d16y8. an now after 2 days, its making a burning smell. it grabs find and does not slip at all. performs way better than the oem one i took out. anyone have any ideas why its making this burning smell? any help would be greatly appreciated.

it helps to know what kinda of smell it is.

did you change your rear main seal upon clutch install?

do you have a vtec solenoid leak or v/c leak?

it smells like burnt clutch. very close to burnt rubber/tires. no i did not replace the main seal..? didnt know i needed to.

New clutches sometimes give out the burning smell. My friend broke his in and then did a pull and it was a really strong smell but then never did it again. Did you adjust the pedal?

Default new clutch burning

You can just get a new disc, but it will still slip on high boost.

Clutch does the biting, not the pressure plate. Pressure plate just clamps the clutch against the flywheel.
