Default Y8 Intake Manifold

The Y8 Intake Manifold is better than the A6 IM, correct? If I get one, what do I need to do about all the sensors? Will the Y8 sensors plug into my A6 harness or with I have to swap the A6 sensors over(if the fit)?

By looking at your signature, Im assuming your planning on putting the Y8 mani on the sohc VTEC head. I have never heard of anyone using the a6 wiring harness on the Y8 mani so im 99% positive your going to have to install the sochVTEC ecu. Most people say the mini really kicks *** when you use the sohcVTEC wiring/intake/ecu/head. But is half *** if done otherwise. Hope this helps...

The Y8 manifold is like the TYPE R manifold for the D series... it flows more and provides up to 7 horse to the wheels on the dyno... go for it... you won't regret it

everything plugs right up

use your fuel rail...all the plugs are the same except you wont have a place to put the Air Intake Temp sensor because on the y8 its located on the intake tube

you can use your firewall mounted map and run a vacumn line to the back of the mani or you can just extend the 3 wires and use the throttle body mounted one

Are their any differences when swapping the y8 manifold onto a a6 head??
I know it bolts up and some wires need to be extended.

As far as i know the z6 manifold bolts right up, i know some wiring changes need to be made but im not sure how much. From what i hear the z6 manifold does flows a lot better than the a6 manifold and supposedly the Y8 manifold is like the Type R
manifold of the d-series.

It gets 2 Hp over the Z6, and significantly more over the A6. I took a look at the A6 manifold and it has long, crappy, skinny runners ( I guess for more low end), and my Y8's has big, fat shorter runners. WAY better flow for higher RPM.
