I was just drivin my girl home. I make a complete stop at a sign and Im on first, shift to second and about 3 secs later when Im at about 2500 RPM 15 mph or so (guessing) mayb less on second gear... then my DA Integra made a nasty jerk like if i hit something "underneath the car" with a loud pop kinda sound. (My DA is lowered). Now its makin a nasty winning cliking sound when I start reducing speed. The sound seems like its coming from where my shifter is located, but beneath the car. or maybe within the shifter.

I dont think my engine is going out because it doesnt make the sound when its on neutral. It only makes the sound when Im in gear, strangely I dont notice anything different with the shifting. Still smooth as it was before. I also rev my engine up and no clicking noise...

Anyone got any ideas? its like a clicking slight rubbing sound.

either your throw out bearing or imput shaft bearing inside the tranny is going bye bye...!!!

 

About how much is that to replace? If its just a bearing can it be replaced?

 

changing the throw out bearing is like changing out the clutch...the imput shaft bearing on the other hand requires you to drop the tranny and open it up...you will have to remove a lot of parts inside but its possible and might as well change out the rest of the other bearings inside while your at it...what part of cali do you stay at because a fellow h-t member stays in granada hills,ca and will do the entire labor for cheap unless you want a write up to do it yourself...!!!

no problem...just to make sure before dropping the tranny take your car to a independent transmission shop to get a free estimate and confirmation of the problem
