Default Transmission issues in 2002 Odyssey

I have a 2002 Odyssey, the tranny developed a bad bearing, so I picked up a used tranny off a 2004. The part # was different, but tranny code was the same, and it appeared they had the same innards. I knew the TSB was permafixed in 2004 so I figured that was the only difference. However, I was wrong. I have the 2004 tranny in, and it works fine until 3rd gear. It appears the 3rd gear ratio is different on some 2002's. I'm not amused D: when it hits 3rd gear the tranny panics and throws three codes. I'm thinking at this point my best bet is to have a 2004 ecu installed? Just wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone has any other suggestions. If I do go with an '04 ecu, how do I go about getting it to work with my key? I've never done an ecu swap on a crap that used those new fangled keys.

Thanks!!
