Maybe they just wanted vtec, or their ls motor blew up and got a deal on the b16a2, you would have to ask the owner.

^^

Or their B18C1 got stolen and they found a B16A2 for cheap.

I like B16A2 in DC chassis, nothing wrong with them

you'll get smoked by ls-tegs all day the body is to heavy for a b16 to pull you'll maybe creep on top end only..

exactly my friend had the same swap in his dc teg and it was sooo slow and he thought it was the **** up and down in my opinion a b16 does not belong in an integra period i wouldn't put one in my DA for the simple fact it just doesn't make enough torque to make it some what quick you'd be better off with just finding another ls i mean and does it still have the ls trans? i think the b16 does much better in the civic/crx chassis just my 2 cents lol

First, if it has the B16 trans, it isnt going to be any slower then a normal LS. Talk about torque all you want and I'll counter with gear ratios being a torque multiplier and how a B16 actually has more torque at the wheels then a LS due to gearing. Plus, you'll already have a decent vtec swap, so all you would need to do is buy a LS/GSR/Type R short block and drop it in and all of a sudden you have a really good engine for an extra $200-800.

+1 that is exactly what i did. I bought a good b16 swap for cheap. Bought a GSR short block and freshly rebuilt it with ctr pistons and viola, poormans type R with a b16 tranny. Motor pulls hard and i love it.

Here we go again...

A b16 may beat a normal, stock trans b18b, but one with a GSR trans is another story.

Here we go with people dragging pointless scenarios into the picture? It also wont beat a B18C5 w/ 4.78FD, nor will it beat a 450whp B18B w/ LS trans....but what does that have to do with anything? What about an M3, will it beat one of those? K20? H22 in a civic? Um.....B18B, B16A, B18C...all sub-200hp and not very fast in stock form regardless of the tranny.

B16a2 vs B18b... I say cost wise. Thats why the owner did the swap
But if ur lookin into buyin it, U cud just get a b20 or b18 bottom end and then youll be pullin.

lol, I'd say my pointless..."scenario," if you can call it that, is a much more likely one than anything you listed, but way to fill the typical Honda-Tech know-it-all, ****-on-your-legitiate point position. Every thread needs one of you guys, I guess. That's not to say you don't know your ****, but nobody, including the OP, asked anything about beating a monster build. Of course what you listed would dust anything that's already been discussed/mentioned in here.

Sorry OP...Flame on!

Wow, this sounds like something I would only expect to find on youtube, arguing about "who's faster/what's faster." Regardless of what motor on what chassis, it's all based on the owner's preference and creativity along with whatever reasons that follow behinds it. For all we care, we can care less with what you do with your car. For god sake people, it just a damm car. If you have the "brains" you'll understand any car can become fast. What matters on Honda-Tech (at least in this section of the forum) is actual facts, questions, and probable solutions to whatever questions. Also constructive criticism with the least amount of non-biased/non-stereotypical opinions as possible. People who knows their facts keep their mouth shut when it comes to stupid threads and responses like these. There's a reason why there's a "search" button and "google." Grow up kids.

if you buy it, make sure it's at a reasonable price. the most sought after integras are either totally stock or modded with parts anyone can recognize. a stock type r swap will always pop the value more than some "built gsr" that has unproven machine work and parts. the b16 will move the car, it just hurts resale since most see it as a downgrade; which it is from a b18c.
