Hey guys I was driving today and I noticed under hard acceleration, my speedometer flutters from around 60 to 70 mph up and down then stabilizes after I let off the accelerator.

Any ideas on what could be causing this problem. It only happens when I punch it hard and at high RPM

check the wiring from the vehicle speed sensor on the tranny, make sure its tidy, ive seen this before

 

The actual speed sensor maybe loose as well, but you'd probably see that needle fluttering at all speeds.

 

agreed. something with the speed sensor connections.

 

Thanks guys even if I'm reviving a 2 month old thread. I got a CEL #17 and the speedo didn't work for a little bit then it came on. So I'm sure that the problem is from the speed sensor wiring.
