JSR type r seats vs. NRG type r seats
Im looking for a pair of cheap seats, and the type r knock offs are one option I am considering. I have heard from other HT'ers that the NRG seats seem cheap and break easily. Anyone have the JDMShit.com Racing (JSR) type r knock off seats? Are they any better than the NRG's?
And are all NRG seats crappy like the type r's? Thanks

cutting corners on something as important as a seat isnt the smartest thing to do. stick with something crash test or oem, why risk your life in something thats going to crumble in a impact.
hahaha some of us dont have the back of our seats bolted in... the seat wont crumple we will go right through the window.
and stop thinking so negative if the impact is enough to crumble seat, a human is pretty much done for

The only thing you have to worry about in a seat is if the back rest will fail. The seat only has to with stand a rear impact. your seat belt is going to hold you in a front end crash and the seat is bolted to the floor so it's not going any where. A harness bar may prevent a cheap seat from folding all the way back..I'm not a 100% sure on that but I would think so if it's used for a harness
yea but if you're going to buy a harness bar, thats gonna probably cost more than the difference between a fake shitty seat and a good one anyway

However, Buddy Club makes a seat that go for as low as $320 each. In other words, $640 for a set, NEW. That's also a name brand. However, I don't believe it's been put through legit crash tests. I'm sure it'll hold up well enough though.
I have a 97 GSR and it had RSX type S seats in it. One bolt, I repeat one bolt, was holding them in. As soon as I bought the car and noticed that, I sold them. I have been looking for stock GSR leathers but they are extremely rare around here. They are my #1 choice but I cant find a clean pair. I dont want to spend a lot on the seats (<$400) because thats what I sold the RSX seats for. I have plans for suspension upgrades so I would rather my cash go to that than for a set of seats.
Regardless of safety (which really is a big big concern with these seats) they're usually terribly uncomfortable. You'll hate driving your car with cheap-o seats.
Stick with stock until you can afford something worthwhile. Don't waste your money and regret spending it on something you dislike.
