Default Catch can/venting dilemma....HELP!

I have an LS block that i am going to be boosting! im shooting for 450-500whp on an LS-V that is going to be tuned by miller at nrgtech...

Now my problem is that i am confused... I really dont want to vent the valve cover but if i have to I will because I just want a reliable motor... I was thinking on just getting 2 block ports to vent the block... is this going to be enough ventilation? or should I just vent 2 in the valvecover and 2 in the block with my setup?

anyone have any experience without venting the VC and making over 450whp?

thanks in advance!

Maybe I'm not 100% understanding you, but if you're asking about adding additional vents to the VC, then no. I'm at 560 whp with a "stock" valvecover. Hahaha

x2 you don't HAVE to, but it doesn't hurt to add them. it only increases the blow-by gases chances of leaving the motor. it's a long debate and i'm not going to get into the theory of why people run catch can setups and which is better. i'll leave that up to you.

^ So why are you posting the question then?

It's a decision, either you want to ensure you have ample evacuation or you don't. Choose.

It obviously works either way... crankcase ventilation will certainly aid longevity...

2 people have told you they're doing fine without... so it's really up to you what you do.

Theres 3 boost setup screens, the %, the set boost, the start boost.

The set gain in kpa or psi or bar value is not the actual boost setting..
Set the warning and limiter down to as low as possible try 9 or even 10 psi, if the settings are close enough to what you want there should be a response in holding the boost, or pulling it back down.

With "all" the settings low enough it should be able to hold a specific pressure, if not then the WG is stuft or solenoid is stuft or not installed properly..

By the sound of things it seems as the WG alone is holding, you have set both BC settings to 0...
mmmmaybe the installation.

The pressure will make its way out of your engine somehow. Most of the time it pushes past the oil pan gasket. I would do it for peace of mind...

My last setup was in the high 500's whp with just an endyne kit, and a filter on the factory breather location...

However my new setup will be aiming for much more, so I will be adding two -10 bungs to the valve cover and venting that as well this time...

Thanks for the input... I seen a lot of setups with no ventilation out of the VC... I think I am going to vent the block and I should be good because I should be in the mid 400s... If I decide to make more power I will just add bungs to the VC and vent it... Just want to see people input
