whats good everyone im looking for a roof rack for an 89 civic sedan.. either thule or yakima doesnt matter... does any one know a website where i can get one.. HELP ME OUT...

 

dont buy one if your not gonna put a bike on it .....

go to a bike store ... mountain bike store etc.... the should be able to get one for you ...

and they dnt really make car specific kits for civic .. most of the kits are universal....

i heard bike racks make crazy downforce without a bike on them. like so much that they got banned from all forms of racing.

 

 

i heard bike racks make your car look super legit so you wont get pulled over for doin 95 in the 25. dont get a rack dont buy into the hype......

 

they sell those carbon fiber racks now with built in neon lights. sike try REI or trek bike shops they sell all kinds. i still dont get the whole rack style though

 

Dude... you've just answered your own question. Go to Thule or Yakima site, or just call them up.. I'm sure they'll be able to tell you what is needed for your EF.

You can always try Craigslist.. I've seen tons of bike racks on there for dirt cheap..

 

go to the yakima site, click on outfit my car and BOOM. it will do it for you, look on craigslist or ebay for the parts u need, much cheaper to buy used

why dont you just get a safari rack like that one guy on here. add a wink mirror and ebay coilovers.

or do like that one guy, get a bike rack, and then put a bike on it that is clearly for an 11 year old (17inch top tube and reflectors) that just SCREAMS poser.

dont forget the 185/50/15 tires and sportmaxx tires. maybe rust your hood, but then put a bra on it.

actually, how many miles are on your EF sedan? ill give you 1800 bucks for it and you can go buy a GTI instead.

i dont think a "true enthusiast" would talk down on others about their cars. they do what they do cos they are "true enthusiast" and dont have big egos. being true is being humble. thats what i think. i dont care. i have an ef and i ride a bike. no rack tho.

 

talking down and advising against are 2 different things. P.S. .... i put these in the back. all of them. you 2 just sound like a couple of butt hurt teenagers. man up, and accept the fact that the kid is trying to achieve "the look". if he ACTUALLY rode, he would not have asked on a CAR forum where to get a BIKE rack. that might not make sense at first, but anyone who rides avidly, knows damn well where to get a bike rack. use common sense. the thread title might as well have been "how do i achieve the look that is popular right now"

dont mind that silver doo-hickey on the red stand. its one of those engine-thingies that you have to put like...oil and gas and stuff into. a real pain in the butt.

people who try to get the look that's popular at the moment are following the current trend. Most people do this. It doesn't only apply to cars but also stuff like fashion. People are just trying to have the "new" look. LIke a lot of car shows, your going to see a lot of the same thing because that's what's in style.Then you have the ones who are trying to really stand out and be different. I think you can go too far w/ trying to be different too. There's no problem w/ doing that. I think it can help people ultimately decide which direction they want to take their car to. You can't sit here and tell me that your car doesn't look like any one of the thousands trends that has happened in the tuning world. Just let the kid build his car to the way he wants it. You don't have to be a dick to everyone because YOU think they're ruining the car. Just like all this "rice", if they like it then that's all that really matters. Let me now relate back to fashion, do you walk down the street and see someone wearing some ugly *** outfit and say, " what the **** were you thinkin when you woke up this morning to throw on that ugly *** outfit? Probably not because why would you care what someone else is wearing? You're not wearing it..but then again to me you seem like a person who would harshly criticize everyone for something you didn't like
