what do most of you guys launch your car at while dragging? I launched at 7500 the other night and almost broke into 13's...my car has 72k on it and I am worried that my Diff might self destruct or something....anybody have a diff blow out by launching?

 

you must have one heck of a motor

 

with JDM DC header, testpipe, stock Bpipe, HKS dragger axle back, ACT extreme clutch, CM 9lb flywheel, and vafc set at stock....

on regular street tires with 24psi in them I got a 2.161 60' and a 14.121@97.10mph and no wheel spin at all....that was my last run and since I have no spinning of the tires yet I figure I can launch harder if my tranny can take it...

 

no way man....i usually launch at around 3000-4000 rpm, but unless you are a really good driver, and get tracktion before the light and once the light green u are in vtec... otherwise everything else will be spin alot.

 

Well, I launch at around 7000 and slip the clutch. With about 17 psi in the front tires. I pulled a 2.15 60' and my best time was a 14.46 with an intake, no p/s and a timing advance.

Edit - that was on 400 teadwear tires.

i launched at like 4k and my tire was spinning like crazy~

no traction at all (all first gear) and beginning of 2nd gear and i did 14.7 @ 97 or something

 

socal was there and saw the slip of my 2.154 60ft and 14.250@96.....that launch was at 7000.....I am not spinning at all....of course I can abuse my clutch cause it is awesome....on the 7500 launch the tach landed at 7000 with the clutch all the way out......I honestly didn't spin at all

I usually launch around 4-4.5k, some slippage to a dump and pull 2.14-2.2's everytime. Thats on Azenis with 32psi.. anything lower, and I didn't get much better 60's and the drag slowed me down in the 1320.

 

9K dump the clutch w/ the Nitrous switch on y0!!

 

anzenis are pretty sticky.....I am planning on a 2.0 next time out

 

WTF, u launch at 7500 I launch at 4000 and my tires (RE010) spin like crazy.

 

you guys don't understand i bet he is launching at 7 g's but he's not pressing the throttle all the way down till it grabs...
most commen mistake from a dragger full throttle right away...

 

 

you are exactly right....once I stage I press the gas with a even amount of presure to hold it at 7000-7500. on the third light I start...I ride it just enough to get moving then dump it....as I let the clutch out I am pressing the gas more and more so once the clutch is out I am at WOT. like I said my clutch will take the abuse since it is meant to hold a lot more HP than I am pushing.....still no one has answered my question. will my diff **** itself?

 

i have heard this too and tried it. I cant get it to work, everytime i do it i end up boging.
