Feel kinda dumb... was putting on headers forgot to put my dipstick back on. Ran it for a day and theres lil oil stains here and there on the hood and motor. Is that all bad? should i just change oil for piece of mind or just add some ontop or it doesn't matter?

 

just add some until its at the correct level, knowing how much you lost will indicate if there was possible damage or not, then degrease the engine

exactly, figure out how much oil your car has been running on then you can assume whether any damage may have been done

 

I did the same thing last week when I picked up my 90' GS. It was dark out so I never noticed, there was oil all over the place! When I got it in the garage the oil light turned on. I changed the oil regardless and it ran fine after that so you should be ok, check the level and add if needed

 

you should be fine as long as you didnt blow all your oil out and drive around all day very doubtful you did much damage if any to the motor
