Default OEM replica Skirt install question

I just read that the replica kit goes over the existing skirts where the oem replaces them. I'm assuming the oem uses the same mounting pints, but how do the replicas attach? I want to make sure they won't damage the stockers. Also, do they interfere at all with jack points?

What is a replica kit? Are you installing the OEM optional kit for ITR?

No, I'm about to order the OEM optional replica kit from ABS Dynamics. http://www.absdynamics.com/products/...800-2DR-TY.jpg

You take the stock ones off then install your replicas. They're replicas, so they may not install perfectly like the OEM ones would. Sometimes, aftermarket replica parts do not consist of the same specs as the OEM would. (basically the holes for the screw may not line up perfectly when installing them under the car).

let us know how the install goes, are you doing the rear valances as well?

genuine OEM pieces are getting harder and harder to find, and when you do find them it's less painful to lube your wallet up and cram it up your bum.

That's what I thought but I was searching some older threads about the install and they say that the replicas fit over top of the current skirts. This is what threw me off. Can anyone confirm this?? Yes, I'm doing the rears as well. ABS Dynamics is running a sale in the vendor section if anyone's interested.

The replicas go over your stock skirts.. using self threading screws in the front and rear wheel wells and one below to keep it in place.

I don't know how I feel about that. Don't want to put any holes in my R that weren't there when I got her.

Does the genuine OEM piece install the same way or do they replace the stockers?

Guess I'll hold off until some OEM pieces pop up. Thank you.

I agree with that statement. I'm glad to see you are going to wait for some OEMs.

Replica parts are a , especially when it comes to things like that. Wait until you find a set real deal.

In my case very. I waited 1 year and a half for my set. Finally the kid who had them fell into some hardship. Bad for him but super good for me....

Even with the OEM kit you'll still need to drill some holes for the rear pieces...

I almost ordered a set from Street Styler (http://www.streetstyler.com/integrao...sideskirts.htm) a while back. A guy from another forum decided that he was going to make an "OEM Quality" replica. They were in the R&D stage for quite some time, and I believe alot of people were patiently awaiting the release.

I decided to back off and wait for an OEM set, but I've been looking for a LONGG time.
