very litle oil in my engine after trip.
o i got back from my trip and checked oil lots of oil all over dip stick so i wiped clean and reinserted. it barely if at all got the stick wet 
So i added oil and it is the same as before.. i know this will indure wear but is it really that bad.??? i got lots of oil just not in the pan cause im doing a head swap and there was lots around stuff as usual.

As long as there was oil circulating in the engine, you should be alright. Hate to state the obvious, but did you check IMMEDIATELY after you stopped driving? It takes time to settle into the pan. You probably had adequate oil.
