would you trade for a WRX
i have a 99 integra gsr a buddy of mine is willing to trade for a 2003 subaru wrx. Is that a good deal or am i better off looking for a db8. Are wrx reliable or are they a piece of crap.
I've never owned a WRX but I know a guy who used to own a 03'. He had plenty of issues with the clutch and the only thing he said is that the tranny couldn't hold a lot of HP. Wether or not it's true I don't know. The only thing I would be concerned with is the cost to repair if something was to happen with the four wheel drive system. I guess it all depends on what kind of shape it is in, how many miles are on it, and how hard it's been driven through out the years. If I was given a chance to trade, i'd probably jump to it, but hey, I have a 90' GS that's not running, so I'd probably take anything right about now!!
OP: You need to provide some basic information about both cars so that some productive, useful responses can be made.
For both vehicles:
-Mileage
-Title status
-How many owners
-Modifications
-Body
-Accidents
-Cafax..
If you can provide that information about both vehicles it'll make it easier to decide.

Now what facts did the OP provide for you to base that statement on?

i was thinking just the same..besides since the wrx 03 is turbo? you dont know the condition its ACTUALLY been through. how long it will last?problems it'll cause and like monkey said buy it, sell for more, make a profit and buy a new integra =] HUSTLE!
Basically comes down to whether you want a boosted car or a N/A car. The only similarities these car's have is their price point. A stock WRX is not a stupid fast car, with only ~220hp.
If it was me, I'd go with the Scooby. Less of a thief magnet, and easier to make some power (less upfront). I have to caveat that with the fact that I'm biased towards turbo'd cars.

WRX= lots of go fast parts.
DB8= go fast parts for arm leg, and your rear end.
I would see the condition of both cars. I would trade for the wrx. I haven't really heard of any thing bad about them. Buddy of mine has his well over 140k, and the only thing he had to rebuild was the turbo( he went bigger...LOL...). Keep up with maintenance, and anything will last awhile. DO IT NAO!!! If you don't want the WRX, sell it and like moua said, buy a JDM front teg....

I love wrx's. I have toyed with selling my teg more than once in favor of one. They have a lot of potential. Sure its not the fastest thing from the factory, but it certainly grabs better than a front wheel drive car. As posted before you need to look into condition, value of the cars, mileage, how it was treated, maintained, title status, and owner history.
My friend has an sti with a full 3in n1 exhaust, aem cai, equal length header, and coils. It was tuned by someone (I forget who did it, I wanna say it was Cobb) but he is over 300awhp. We traded cars one day and that car screams. I have never looked at my car the same since. Granted its an sti, but similar results can be had out of a wrx. Go out and drive one and see what you think. The most important factor is what you are more comfortable driving and what you like better.

WRX hands down. It's a hell of a lot more comfortable, has a higher value, and you can make more power for cheaper, while still being more reliable.
(and this is coming from some one with a turbo Honda)
