After a phone call from the inspection place saying my car cannot pass emissions due to the ECU not being adapted I think I've realized my recurring problem.

What would cause my ECU to reset each time the car is turned Off [On?]

probably a short or a bad/missing backup fuse. that would be my guess anyways, but i am by no means an ecu expert.

 

Is corrosion on a battery post feasible?

 

Yes, but it would have to be quite a bit of it. ..

Id lean more to the back up fuse being blown.

What year is the car?

 

1997 LX non vtec

 

an update: thank you guys, I checked my underhood back up[radio] fuse 7.5a and it was indeed blown. replaced with a new fuse, clock now lights up inside car again and I believe the ECU has stopped resetting itself
