Default Durabilities of Apexi V-AFCs

I had the unit on for nearly 2 years now...it was in to prepare for dyno tunning, but at the end, all my money went for other stuff other than power upgrades.

So it's sitting there as a nifty display for passenger's amusement. The question is, well this V-AFC suddenly go bad once and completly screw up my ECU? There was once that the RPM indicator did not move and stay at a constant number till I shut the car off and restart again.

it's solid state (memory chips).

you could drop the thing off a cliff and it shouldn't hurt the settings unless the buttons get pressed....the gas display is a little more fragile...but everything should hold up fine.

It's better than someone who screw up his car numerous times and yet act like a divine tech in here and post craps that were copied and pasted from some other thread.

The point of the post is not about the incident I had, but just want to know if anyone else have other durability issues regarding their V-AFC

lol. please tell me how i screw up my car numerous times.

I work on my car and others. Most of the things I know are from experience. I dont go out and pay someone $200 to install the simplest of things like a VAFC for me like you do then come complain about it when something goes wrong with it....the play it off like its nothing.

The difference between me and you...its quite simple. I work on my own car. Therefore I know exactly whats done to it. You on the other hand take out your credit card and put some debt onto it for other people to hackup your car. I bet your VAFC install = crap and thats why your having problems. Don't hate on me because your ignorant and lazy.

So before you start "attempting" to bash me out of pure jealousy, how about picking your "I dont know how to change my blinker fluid" attitude up off the floor and actually do some ****.

By the way, everything is life is learned through reading and experience. I come here as a technical forum where many nice and kind people have extended some help when i came into a bind. Therefore I share info when I can as well. Why you even post this is beyond me. Just take it back to which ever guy installed it for you and pay him another 100 dollars to fix that loose solder connection.

How sad...building up and maintaining one's entire confidence on an internet forum....

I work on my car as well if you didn't know. But not for V-AFC installation when ppl like you don't even compete with your car and not to mention you have a complete stock setup. AND SINCE YOU KNOW AND READ SO MUCH on this board. What is the intention for you to get a V-AFC on a stock car?

I am planning to TAKE OFF my V-AFC as oppose to you just putting it on for show factors.

Yeah, I see conversing with you is as useless as talking to a black belt chimp. And I think I just insulted the chimp by using him to compare to you

Listen ricer boy with the vafc down at the ashtray angled at the passenger and with the super LED aftermarket radio with the 80 lb sub in his trunk, when you start working on your car, then you can bitch. Until then, how about growing up and stop being just a jackass in real life

Rice boy? Lol! Who's the one that just recently took out his gauge needles and painted it yellow and ended up scratching the cluster and had to buy stickers to cover it up? Who's the one that brought a V-AFC for his stock car and lowered his car that upset the corner weight balance?

And what's wrong with my V-AFC at the ashtray angle? Don't tell me you actually read the V-AfC while driving...lol!
Is it my fault that you live a boring life and don't listen to music? And since when did I autox/track with a sub in my car? I am not allow to listen to good music while driving on the street?
Are you saying that anyone with an aftermarket audio systems are rice boys?

There are people much more technical than you such as Charlie and Chris, and I never see them act like a senior advisor here. I work on my car alot, mainly for competition reasons, not kill switches like you.

Me, a jackass in real life? Tell me, fuzznuts, How come you are the only one that ever told me that huh? And are you saying that you are a nice person in real life.
Maybe Jason and Rob can vouch that for you! (<-- sarcasm in case you missed it again)

Arguing with you is a waste of time. So this will be my last reply in this pointless thread.

Who's the one that brought a V-AFC for his stock car and lowered his car that upset the corner weight balance?
lowering my car upsets corner weight balance. Wow. That's really amazing that you actually don't know what your talking about.

And what's wrong with my V-AFC at the ashtray angle? Don't tell me you actually read the V-AfC while driving...lol!
v-afc at ashtray angle pointed at passenger? If I was going to do that, I would have thrown it in the glovebox instead of mounting it purely for show. I actually do read the v-afc while driving, and thats why i have it mounted somewhere i can easily check on it.

On the other hand I don't know why you have a F&F big 12" inch tach sitting on your dash. *remember, I was not the one at island dragway who fucked up his transmission because he didnt know better but to drop the clutch completely from a 7000 rev.

I am not allow to listen to good music while driving on the street?
Are you saying that anyone with an aftermarket audio systems are rice boys?
No, but riceboy's who drive through downtown flushing revving at people not even in cars and turning up the music so loud so he becomes a portable boombox are obnoxious people.

There are people much more technical than you such as Charlie and Chris, and I never see them act like a senior advisor here. I work on my car alot, mainly for competition reasons, not kill switches like you.
Again with the jealousy. Unless my title says "senior advisor" I dont know where the hell you get that from. I actually do help with other people's questions, like you try to do, on a numbnut scale. I speak to Chris on occaision and he is a very knowledgable person as well.

I do not claim to be "all knowing" as you hold me up to be your one and only God. But I sure do know how to do quite a few things.

There are people much more technical than you such as Charlie and Chris, and I never see them act like a senior advisor here. I work on my car alot, mainly for competition reasons, not kill switches like you.
Come on. You're just too funny. Competition reasons? buying 1800 dollars worth of video equipment (then losing it and forking out another 1800 dollars for it again), 400 dollars of stereo equipment...

your car is stock asides a intake which someone else put in, a vafc which someone else put in... and a tach which someone else put in, yet again. If you consider these competition mods, alright, fine. I can see how you would see that...but you working on your car? no....you have people work on your car for you.

Me, a jackass in real life?
Yes

How come you are the only one that ever told me that huh?
Considering I'm the only guy here who's actually tried to become your real life friend and since I know what kind of person you are with the ladies and guys, i think thats why.

Not to mention every one of your "friends" that i've met has talked quite a bit of crap behind your back, but never to your face. Even the girls talk about you in such a negative light. If you believe the people you call friends are your friends, i really do feel sorry for you.

And are you saying that you are a nice person in real life.
I try to be.

Agree, arguing with you is down grading myself.

So, You won I lost! You the man! You the superior power of Honda-tech. I U

lowering my car upsets corner weight balance. Wow. That's really amazing that you actually don't know what your talking about.
Ask Chris

v-afc at ashtray angle pointed at passenger? If I was going to do that, I would have thrown it in the glovebox instead of mounting it purely for show. I actually do read the v-afc while driving, and thats why i have it mounted somewhere i can easily check on it.
The V-AFC manual stated clearly *Not to use the V-AFC while driving*. So you brought the V-AFC just for reading of those fansy moving blue numbers? The last time I checked, my vafc mounted in between the head unit and the ashtray is NOT tilted, unless you are trying to say I mounted there to provide entertainments to rear seat passengers...but dope! I don't have rear seats!

On the other hand I don't know why you have a F&F big 12" inch tach sitting on your dash. *remember, I was not the one at island dragway who fucked up his transmission because he didnt know better but to drop the clutch completely from a 7000 rev.
Again, you are aiming at my mods 2 years ago when I first brought the car.
I never drag race, so I don't know the proper way to launch, I used a autox launch on stock tires and it didn't work out. But unlike you, I'll never pee in my pants in the driver's seat while thinking myself as Initial D's Takumi racing down in public mountain roads. And another for running a day's best at 15.2

Who did I rev on? I always like my windows shut, so what are you talking about turning up the music? My damn system is only 80 watts, I can't even hear the music from the outside of my car.

Come on. You're just too funny. Competition reasons? buying 1800 dollars worth of video equipment (then losing it and forking out another 1800 dollars for it again), 400 dollars of stereo equipment...

What does my camcorder incident has to do with cars?
And NO! smartass. I am talking about work done on my cars that actually makes a difference: Tires/Brake pads/Brake Rotors/Brake Lines/Alignments..etc.

Not to mention every one of your "friends" that i've met has talked quite a bit of crap behind your back, but never to your face. Even the girls talk about you in such a negative light. If you believe the people you call friends are your friends, i really do feel sorry for you.
Wonder why Kamie changed her cell phone number? I always forgot to ask you, but please stop bugging her, she has ZERO interest in you. And everyone talks crap behind people, that's normal among friends. If I charge you 1 cents per minute for listening to you complaining about John or other friends, I'll be a millionaire. I'll be a trillionaire if I listen to other people, R-Speed/my friends complain about you.

you're full of ****. I'm saying that people who drive 15 mph in a 35 mph zone downtown thru flushing with the windows rolled down, music so loud that passerbys are irritated, looking all around for attention are ricers, like you.

Wonder why Kamie changed her cell phone number? I always forgot to ask you, but please stop bugging her, she has ZERO interest in you.
Actually, I havent bothered you or anyone i met through you since i determined you were a *****, which was quite a while ago. Thanks. Shes just a nice person, and you hold her like shes a goddess. Its not my problem you have a hard on for her. Thanks.

So before you start spewing bullshit on the internet, how about you get your lies in order first so they look atleast accurate?
