ok so i just picked up a southern 95 civic EX auto that sat for 2 years. It has a new dizzy spark plugs, wires, and fuel filter. When i go to start the car when it is completly cooled.... it will not start. it sounds like that start is just spinning but no cranking over....If i keep giving it gas for about 2 or 3 minutes it will start to crank over.... once it starts up in shakes and miss's like its not running on all 4 cylinders for like 10-15 seconds then it all clears up and runs on its own... When the car is warm or with in an hour of the last start... it will start up just fine.. Any ideas??? Could it be a bad fuel pump, injectors or Fuel pressure regulator??? or is it electrical? and why do i have to keep giving it gas just to get it to start??
Have you put fresh gas into the tank?
Does the CEL work?
When the engine is warm does it run perfectly? Any problems?
When the engine won't start, listen for whether the fuel pump primes and whether the CEL turns on and then turns off after 2 seconds when the key is turned to ON(II). Next check for bright white spark at all four plugs.
