it works there in front of the clock (dunno about sun). I would not expose the unit for long periods to the sun....

above rear view mirror....right behind shifter...or my favorite.... in the glovebox.

It is a electronic device that allow the user to adjust the vtec engagement point (rpm) and to adjust the fuel delivery at many points along the rpm spectrum at 500 rpm increment. Also adjust the fuel settings in low and hi cam stages (leans or enriches the fuel mix) i.e: Adds power. Very useful for moded engines.

Did you photochoped the above pic? I have mine install on the same location, but that V-AFC of yours looks awfully big and out of proportion.

Thats the way it is. The pic makes it look big for some reason. But looks really small in person.

Yes, but this is a very foolish thing to do. Vtec is in place so that you get good low-rpm torque and gas mileage >> and then after a certain rpm it allows for a more aggresive cam profile (vtec engages) which doesn't offer good low end torque or gas mileage.

Glove compartment. You can see it easily and when you open the glove at night the light in there shines on the V-AFC, looks great.

No, the lowest you can set the vtec switchover on these is at 3k rpm.

Plus, it is useless to do so.

I have the wierd connector on there for taking it on and off when leaving the car in questionable places. Without the VAFC connected the car will idle rough, then die.

Yes, I do that all the time and it doesn't mess up the settings. The VAFC unit has the setting saved in it everytime you turn off your car, so it will work if you disconnect it and reconnect it everytime. Just make sure you have it plugged in before you turn the ignition. I did that one time and got a CEL code because the connector wasn't in all the way. Was no big deal though.

The only problem I have is when passengers want to put the passenger side sun visor down. The section where the male and female connector plugs together is on the bottom of the visor(female connector velcro'd there). This prevents the sun visor from going down all the way.
Here are some more pics for those that asked me about the connector and mounting the unit:
