Default honda accord tans and lighting

okay so i am having 2 differant problems with this 2000 accord ex i just bought. first off i put a sony explode head unit in and as soon as i put it in my dash lights stopped working and my tail lights dont work. but my break lights and head lights work?

now my transmission problem is the transmission slips. but only for the first like 2 mins i drive it. after that there are no problems at all? i took it on long trips and everything and had no problems at all its just when i first drive it. and it seems to be leaking tranny fluid but i cant find out where its coming from?

Did you check for blown fuses? I Think it's the small light fuse, but I don't remember.

You may need a new tranny. My 3rd auto tranny did the same thing on my 94. it would slip when it was cold, and drive fine while it's warm, then it was slipping all the time.I got sick of auto trannys and did the 5 speed swap.

Why in the world would you buy a car with a slipping transmission?

Double check the wiring for the stereo. Sounds like a wire got shorted.

you didnt check all the fuses because i guarantee its small lights fuse under hood and you have grounded out the illumination wire in the radio harness which has caused it

Most likely it is this

It could also be a bad dimmer switch (as seen by some other users)

agreed it could be but the fact the taillights dont work and also the fresh radio install lead me to believe it is the fuse or possibly both

ur trans is most likely leaking from the axle seals. that's because the differential bearing took a **** on you. now the internal filter is clogged and reduced fluid flow = slipping trans as the clutch packs detonate. I would go straight to honda for the trans and that will cost you at least $1500 to 2800 just for the trans plus $500 for R&R if you do not do it yourself.

Head unit = u messed up wirth the wiring.....
