So the orange ribbon cable thats on the hondata s200 unit is only about 3-4 ft long at most, id like to extend this cable to about 8ft so i can store the unit inside the center council instead of the glovebox'.

This wont have any negative effects correct? I just plan on cutting the line/soldering/heat shrinkin wire in between to extened the wires a bit. Ill use the same guage wiring as was used prior....just figured id ask around before i started cutting lines', thanks in advance...i know its a random question but a question none the less
