Default ITR intake on boosted b18 Vs Other Intakes..

as titled, how does the ITR intake and throttle bodie compare to other intakes and throttle bodies out there? are they good for boost or is there any other intakes that are better suited for forced induction on the b series?

cheers

the ITR man and TB are fairly good atleast to 400whp, (Newer tried to tune with stock IM and TB over that) so I cant really say if its good or not above 400. but Im shure it would do fine.
Last tune we did with that IM and TB was a stock B18c-R at 10-11 psi it did 371,9whp

it depends on your power goals, it will give you a fatter tq curve than a Victor X, and probably make more power than a victor X up to 400whp or so

anything over 450 is where i would say a bigger manifold/tb will give benefits

Remember N/A and turbo applicatoins arent neccesary the same...
I have never compared those two directly... but Im not convinced that a bigger plenum/shorter runners in turbo app gives any less hp in the midrange area..

its been proven over and over that an itr style intake manifold makes more midrange than victor x's, search for the s2im vs the edelbrock and you will see

I have a buddy making 522hp on a ITR intake manifold with a stock throttle body...he is going with a bigger set up for next season so I am building him one of my intake manifolds, and for now we are going to retain his stock throttle body. My intake manifold made almost 30hp more (mid range) and 14hp (peak) and Naturally Apirated, over a well known (probably most popular brand used) intake manifold....I'm not going to name names because I respect the brand and its people. We are going to put my manifold to the test on his boosted car, I am not making any promises but I think we will see 30-50hp more on the peak and probably near the same improvement in torque. We'll see. I've said it before, and I'll say it again...I will put my intake manifolds to the test against ANY brand out there, honestly I am getting a bit tired of hearing that the Victor X is the best manifold for making power. I will build one for any shop/tuner (reputable shop/tuner) that will put it on the dyno against other manifolds for non-biased results.

Here is a pic of the manifold I am building right now, obviously un-finished (worked on it lastnite) Stay tuned............................
