Default primary larger than flange

well were making a set of headers, and the primaries are larger than the ports on the flange, is this bad, will there be a large amount of turblance there?

how much larger they are will make a difference, how much are we talking here?

I imagine this will only hinder the effect of the pressure waves that return to the head

when we have cases like this, we will use a small diameter tube for the first 1", then step it out to the primary. not the best situation for a motor but what else are you gonna do

these type of situations come up a lot on super stock/stock race cars where they have to use a "stock" style head, along with a tri-y step header.

better than the primary being smaller than the opening on the head flange.
