Just thought I would get some talk going...

Wish there would be a company that would pick up the Honda/Acura's especially the EF's and get some door panels and rear plastic made like OEM. Just like the muscle cars are doing.

I do think there would be money to be had in doing so especially if similar or identical to stock.

I sure could track me down and purchase the mold/dyes from Honda and find out what kinda plastic is used... I am there haha

I could see a market for crx door panels, climate controls, belt moldings, floor mats, weather stripping, and seat foam/covers.

The older the car the more demand. I would say the EF's would be near the top of the list far as in demand and people willing to pay decent money for aftermarket parts that look like original... A lot more people will then be happy to fix a rusted hulk...

 

There is a market, but honestly, how many do you think would sell?

I figure a cheap mold for the infamously cracking climate control bezel would cost about 6k to R&D.
How many would you need to sell to make a profit off that?

 

calm down, it will happen but not yet. there are parts still available, just wait 10 years.

 

I think its a very good idea. Along with crx floor mats, and cargo covers. There are so many things that are just getting too old to try and find one in better shape then the beat up one you have.

Its a matter of time untill some one starts making oem copy cat parts.
