I have a 1997 Civic EX coupe. I am having problems with fuse 15. I am well aware of the TSB about wires rubbing on the intake manifold bracket causing them to short. Here's a bit of a recap of what I've done:

After first having the problem, I looked at the wires above the bracket to find no damaged wires. I wrapped a few of them in electrical tape, did not solve the problem.

Later I took a closer look at all the wires, no damaged ones found. I wrapped the everything that I could find in tape. still did not solve the problem.

Today, I tried again verifying the wires under above the bracket, and by re-wrapping all of the major connection points around the bracket. No luck. I left the bracket off, no luck, kept blowing the fuse. I unplugged my oxygen sensor, still blew the fuse. Unplugged the speed sensor, and still blew the fuse.

It takes about a quarter mile for the fuse to blow when I put a new one in. Any other suggestions on what the problem could be??

 

If you install a new fuse 15, reset the ECU to clear CEL codes, and drive the car, does the CEL come on before fuse 15 blows? If so, what is the code?

 

No, the fuse pops and the speedo starts dancing, followed by the CEL a few seconds later.

 

Can anyone tell me exactly what is connected to that fuse electrically?

 

What CEL codes do you retrieve?
