Widest wheel and tire on a 5th Gen
Just wanted to know what people have ran on their accords. im anxious for more grip.
94 accord lx JDM h22a turbo 326whp
currently i have stock steelies 14" on it with 195's
ive had 205/40's on it with my summer wheels. im not sure the width or the offset on the wheels. i think the width is 7". their ALT x-philes (old wheel i know).
can i go bigger on the tire? 225-235? the tires on the summer wheels are yokahama parada spec 2's
thank guys

Well I am about to get some 17x7 5Zigen FN01R-C's, lowered on Tein H-Techs. I do not think I will have any issues BUT my mechanic said that I might have to roll the fenders to avoid rubbing, so if a 17x7 will require fender rolling then you may be able to work out the conclusion from there.
i ran wiide-tread square sidewall 235's squeezed ont some 17x7s with 35 offset
they were so wide that in the front they stuck out bout a centimeter, in back were flush with fender, at stock height never rubbed and looked mean as ****
on a 6th gen though
run wide fool its not like your gonna be going more than 2mph when you got your wheels full lock

you can run 225 rubber up front easily enough if the rim is the correct offset
in terms of rim width, i run 18x8" +40 rims all round without any guard work or camber kits. Thats with 215/35 rubber, and there is no rubbing or fouling.
I assume you are chasing traction with wider tyres, there are better ways to do it (ie stickier compounds, LSD, stiffer mounts, traction bars etc)

extralargenog is running Prelude oem axles if thats who your asking.
although stock accord axles will also hold up to some decent abuse, as I run them in my turbo f22 accord.

Ive been running OEM lude axles at well over 600whp for two years. On slicks and DOT tires. Same set. I beat the shgit out of my car constantly
what year lude axles fit?
and how r ur launches...u take out all the slack in the drivetrain im guessing before u dump it for those 3rd gear smokers haha, or do u always roll?

any fourth or fifth gen lude..... Just has to be a twin cam model (H23 or H22) to get the bigger spiders in the joints... WHich is the goal. Yes I preload and or roll...
LIke I said, just make SURE they are OEM Honda... ANY axle you get from a store is not. Go find yourself a clean one in the junk yard... If they are oem. there will be yellow rings around the axle shaft... (Im sure there are other colors too as ive seen blue as well), but just NO aftermarket ones. Theyre weaker.
I try to find 99ish base (H22) ludes as theyre newer and usualoly have less miles.. I have a couple extra sets, but havent had to change them. LOL..
