Friend works at a local dealership as a mechanic, says one of the tech's forgot to put MTF in a ITR's tranny. Now the dealership owes the customer a new trans.
Was it anyone on this forum?

Yeah well I put MTF in my tranny and that f'd the tranny.
That stuff is no good for our B-series trannies especially with some miles on them. Too thin. Replacing the GSR trans with an ITR trans and Torco MTF.

he was probubly really excited to get to drive it when he was done that he just totaly forgot. i remember when i first started doing oil changes i had a 350z come in when they first came out and i was so excited to get to drive it that i almost forgot to put oil in it. good thing i questioned myself and checked.
Atleast the dealership admits it's there fault and are replacing the trans. Usually, the hassle begins with the dealership denying anything was their fault. I believe a brand new ITR trans from Acura is around $1700 just for the part.
i think they are more in the 2500-3500$ range. and thats JUST the tranny.it wont cost the dealership that much but thats what it would cost use to get one from them
It's safe, I actually had to leave my R in the front parking lot over night before he changed my clutch because the gate was already closed. Trust me though I thought I was getting a call in the morning saying my R was gone.... =(
