BUMP.

OK so more information on this issue: Took the VSS out of the car and check the volts by waiving a piece of metal across the magnet on the vss and got some readings. Put it back in the car and turned the wheel and got some voltage readings. The cruise control button lights up green when I press it on, but it doesn't light up on the dash or work while going down the road. I looked at all the wiring I could see and saw no bare or wearing at all to any wires. I really need some suggestions on this issue. HELP!

Clear the code? you didn't mention.
It's either the Vss (again) or the wiring to it (if what you're relating is accurate).

Hello P. Adams, nice to hear from you again. I did clear the code because I disconnected the battery to install a good alternator, the old was only putting out 11.97 volts. How could it be the VSS as I did all the appropriate tests? checked all the wiring closely too.

Strange thing, now I can't get the CEL to come on even when I first turn the key on and it usually clicks. Maybe this is a computer problem. Whats your thoughts????

OK I figured one part out, the CEL was blown. I checked it with another bulb and now I don't have a working bulb for the brights.
BUT, I have hooked up the jumper wire on the blue connector and the light just stays on and does not blink. WHY?
Also still need to know why the speedo doesn't work?

The sending unit that is located on top of the transmission is bad. It is common from time to time. I had to replace one on a 90 accord recently. Replace that and your speedo should be fine.

Well I will try this out. When you state sending unit, could you be a little more specific. I am pretty sure the part you are speaking of but want to be sure.

I switched out the ECM/PCM from an identical 96 accord Vtec Auto that I have with the same part numbers after getting some advice from a honda mechanic. It still does the same thing... no speedo or odometer movement and CEL P0501. I believe I have a bad wire somewhere just don't know where???? HELP!!!!

checked all wiring under the intake manifold and found nothing exposed or rubbing against metal. All the connectors on this Accord is above the strut towers on both sides. All of them look good with no contamination. What else could this problem be????
