Alright im lookin to switch out my skunk2 and getting a 3inch to go along with my build , the skunk2 3 inch is out of the ? local has it on his ls hatch and the thing is to loud for my liken. please post a vid or sound clip of the exhaughst under load, specs, cat, resonator size, dyno numbers it made with your setup, and axle back or what ever you used to acheive it , im looking for a certain tone not to loud ,and not soft spoken. dyno run's are wellcome , but would like to hear it outside so its not echoing of walls

So why do you want 3 inch? No one is going to know what this "certain tone" you want is. And loud to one person can be not so loud to another. I can't provide you with a bunch of sound clips, but I can help you select the proper components to build the ideal exhaust sytem for what you are trying to acheive. You need to give us more information on your setup and what it is your are trying to achieve here.
thats why i asked so i can get an ideal sound that im shooting for ,

-High Flow Cat (a resonated high flow cat would be best for quieting the exhaust and improving the sound "tone", though there isn't much selection for these types...most are not resonated)
-Longest resonator possible in the first section of piping after the converter
-Muffler with a large oval body for sound absorption (maybe consider an APEXi WS2 Univeral Muffler)
I have 2 in-car vids for a 2.5 & 3" exhaust on the the same 2.0L
The 3" made a little more power but was a lot louder.
I still run the open 3" at the track but on the street I install a plug with a 1 7/8" hole to try and keep things civil.

sounds pretty good how long where the glass packs im thinking of doin a kteller 3 inch pipe kit and throw maybe like a 36 inche glass packed in the middle and on the end a thermal 3 inch axle back or somthing .. i just dont want it raspy
The 1st is 36" then into a 24" 2nd. If you don't plug the tail pipe for DD use you had better get ear plugs and a good lawyer. It's almost open header loud, it just dosen't exit under the car ..lol.
mufflers are for pussies. just put in a cat and resonator.
i ran a car with nothing but a cat and it wasnt too bad.
i guess it all depends on where you live. my car is quiet compared to some of the piece of **** trucks and monster turbo diesels around here, but im in hillbilly country and go to school in Youngstown, a loud car is the least of the popos worries

bein that i live in new jersy i dont think running no muffler would be a good idea the car will be my dd and trust me if i could open header it i would
yea the thermal sounds good i just ordered 3inch piping kit from vsr either gonna do a thermal axle back or the ws2 3inch axle back if it dont sound the way i want imma throw in a 36 resinator and if it still dont sound the way i want ... i guess ill just have to deal with it lol
88hatchy, sounds good. I'm using KTeller 3inch piping with 2 SMSP resonators (no cat) to a vibrant 3inch muffler. Sounds decent. Not quiet, but also not super loud
comes with everything but its a weld up kit only they dont sell the bolt on kit like kteller. it cost me 200 bucks for the ss 3 inch kit should be here tuesday , i havent ordered the muffler yet might do the thermal or the ws2 3 inch , still undecided on the full setup yet
yeah i know its weld up....but for 150 bucks for aluminized i figured it came without flanges...tehy just emailed me back and it does, so i cant go wrong now.
Couch cough... that really helps... you cant compare a Diesel truck to a honda.
Check Redshift Motorsports they make a complete exhaust system that can be run with or without a cat.
3 inches is a bit big!
