Default Interior wiring guru's please chime in!

Whats up h-t, well i'm helping my lil bro fix his 98 teg gsr 2dr. Not sure exactly how it happened but all the parking lights quit working on him and the fuse is still good, ive replaced it anyway just to be sure.

Things i have done
- I have tested the light switch and its good
- I replaced the dimmer switch and it did nothing.
- I found that there is no power to the taillight/license light fuse, so i ran a wire from the white/red wire pin coming from the switch. Now the parking lights only turn on on the second click (headlights). First click of the switch nothing turns on at all...also when the lights are on i just noticed the license plate lights arent on.
- I checked the bulbs to the license lights and they are both good, i didnt get a chance to check them for power yet.
- I searched for exposed/touching wires/burnt wires or anything that can be causing this and came up empy handed.

So im not really sure what to do next so i figured i'd turn to honda-tech to give my some ideas to help fix our problem. TIA!

there is either a unwanted resistance on the power side, since everythign works fine. Do, know how to do voltage drop? that's always the best thing to do on electrical problems. Help eliminate the cost of repair parts.

I suggest checking fuse 51 in the under hood fuse/relay box (15 amp fuse). Also check fuse 32 in the under dash fuse box (10 amp fuse). Does this car have an aftermarket alarm? Do the headlights turn on? Did you verify the combination switch using the Helms manual? Off of the switch, there should be a Red/Green wire. Does this wire show 12 volts with your multimeter when the switch is turned to the first position?

I actually had that same problem but with the headlights and turn signals and it was because of an alarm system that was added but the weird thing is it worked fine for probably 4 to 5 months than that problem occured so i disconnected my alarm system and it worked fine never had a single problem with it and had sumbody else install the alarm system again and they said it was wired up wrong thats wat caused it so thats wat im thinkin sounds really familar to me

Yes actually the car had an alarm in it. I took it all out just to get the wiring out of there but it didnt fix the problem, maybe thats what caused it tho. Thanks for the input!

every fuse under the hood has power, fuse 30 and 32 under the dash have power. I verified the switch by putting it in a different car. There was an aftermarket alarm in the car but i already removed it with no luck. Red/Green wire only has power on the second click but not the first.....
