Default Newb here(first post). Needing a clutch.

Hi. Posted this on ******** but didn't get help so I'm going to copy and paste here;

Hi. My gf and I got am 07 Si sedan a few months ago. Recenlty the clutch has been slipping(@15K!). What is a good replacement? I want one that will last longer than 15K miles and have a decent bite with stock pedal feel. I doubt, other than an intake and/or maybe exhaust, that I will add a bunch of power since this is our DD. I did a search and saw a thread that mention CC clutches were the best for our cars but not sure in what terms as far as what kind of replacement, like racing or stock.
Can you guys guide me to where to get everything I need and for the best price?
Is it a good idea to replace the tranny fluid while doing this? Thank you.

BTW, The person that drove the car before either didn't know how drive the car or the clutch is defective. I don't drive this car hard at all since it's our DD.

I have heard good things about the Exedy OEM replacement clutch:

You don't have to drive a car hard for the clutch to go out that early. The clutch can wear prematurely if you ride it, slip the clutch excessively when starting out, rest your foot on the clutch pedal when not using it, or any number of things.

also... idiots who use the clutch to hold themselves still on a hill instead of using the god damn brakes! that drives me insane cause all it does is just melt the clutch... i had a friend with a 99 GS-R who did that and couldnt figure out why he had to put 2 clutched in it since he's had it till i rode with him around town one day... christ...

I keep seeing that I have to use a acura RSX Type S flywheel for this clutch. Why is that if it's a stock replacement??

And what is the difference between this one and the one above? Same company and application but different part #.

So I have a stock exedy replacement clutch and I have been calling around and I keep getting quoted $500 for the just the job. That's about $200 more than I wanted to spend. So I was contemplating doing the job myself. Just wondering if there are some good write ups on this that cover most if not the whole job? Thanks.

What do you guys mean by slipping the clutch excessively? I must apologize in advanced. The first car that I learned to drive stick on was on my own. I literally have never had any formal lessons from anyone else. And what does riding the clutch mean?

I am going to be picking up a new SI in a few days and want the car to last me through the rest of my undergrad year as well as my post graduate schooling. I just want to make sure that I am treating the car correctly and that I will not be excessively be damaging parts that I don't need.

^ riding the clutch is when you leave your foot on the clutch when your driving instead of on the Dead pedal. Just a little pressure on the clutch pedal will cause unnecessary wear. (at least that's my understanding of "riding the clutch" But either way, whatever it's called, don't do that it is bad)

And a lot of don't do this (but I do it); when you down shift, at least press the gas as you let the clutch out so that all the pressure of the engine is not on the clutch. I personally rev the engine to the correct RPM, in neutral, before even putting the clutch in. But it's not necessary cause of synchro's. I just do it cause it's smooth.
