Considering selling my 97 R(cant believe it)
#0059....has almost 32,000 miles on it. I took the b18c5 out and put a fully-built LS motor in with a Full Race 35R. Car currently makes 488whp but can handle and make much more as you probably know with a 35. Engine is good for 800hp if you ever wanted to get real nuts, but it's insane as is. I put about 200 miles on this car since the build and i'm not sure why i did it in the first place, but next yr i'll turn 40
, and daycare for my son is costing $1,500 a month!!..........so my priorities are changing and i could use the money. Great thing about this car is, aside from the build, everything else is stock, down to the original tires and brake pads. If someone was motivated, they could return the motor to stock pretty easily because i still have the original block sitting wrapped in plastic. The turbo build could be parted out and sold for good $$...I would sell everything including the OG engine for 25k....The build alone cost about that so i think it's a good price for the right person, but i know it'd probably never sell so i'm not counting on it and maybe i don't really wanna let it go subconsciously. Maybe return to stock 1st and part it out myself?? I really don't have the patience for that but i will if i have to....Opinions?

Sucks you are considering getting rid of it, but everyone keeps getting put in situations like this now days. I myself would keep it at any cost, considering what you have invested. But if I had to sell it, I would personally put it back to stock and part out the build. I guess that's just my opinion. It really sucks to do that after all the money that went into it, and you really haven't been able to really drive it much when it was completed. It reminds me of the situation with my SRT. It just sits there with 1,600 miles and I have thought about selling it, but I've barely gotten any enjoyment out of it. I know it's certainly not an ITR, but I did drop a decent amount of money in it too. Not as much as you did, but enough to think I'd be crazy to sell it. We all know how much of a "good investent" mods are
. Oh well . . . I guess take everyone's opinions for what they're worth and do what you feel is right. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I agree with srt4 mike, I would bring her back to more of a stock condition and get top dollar. There will always be FI guys that would love a block like that.
I'd part out the current motor setup and get that car back to as close as stock form as possible. Very little '97 ITR's left with low mileage like that and clean titles. Whatever you do, don't part the car itself out, just the motor/turbo.
Please consider selling it with the original motor in it. It will hold its value better. Alot of people would be turned off if they saw a type-r for sale without a type-r motor. Part that motor out or get the use out of it in a hatch or something cheap.

Wise choice building a different motor and leaving the C5 alone. 32k original miles on a C5 is awesome, especially comming out of a '97 ITR. Put that car back to stock form for the sake of the rest of the '97 R's that are in junk yards and have salvage/theft titles.
Definitely put the original motor back in and sell as stock (assuming the C5 is factory original). You'll make enough on a 32k mile '97 that you may be able to keep your build and throw it in a much cheaper shell..
Seeing this in your sig: http://www.theshopct.com makes me think i either know you or you've seen my car before
