Default b16a2 MAIN Bearing Diameter?

whats up honda tech im building my 2ND b series motor and this time i want to get my main brng clearance exact across the board maybe .002 as i will be geting it pretty hot. so im going to be using honda brngs to achive it and i was told to use this methode:

get main housing bore spec, bore gauge each hole and record specs, measure crank journel diameter, then do math. main hs - journel diameter - desired clearance = bearing thickness. my prob is i cant find the spec for main bore and im trying to measure using a snap gauge then micing that but my numbers just arnt coming out right. ANYONE EXPERIENCED engine builders wanna shed some info i would be stoked. thanks

Read the bearing codes on the block, crank, and rods. Standard honda clearances are 0.0015". The use earls bearing chart to determine honda bearing colors.

If you want to be exact, then you should get the right measuring tools to do the job.

ok i think not everyone read the post all the way. i have every tool possible cuz im taking a college engine overhaul class. so i have bore gauges, telescopic(snap) gauge, and all the diff micrometers needed. my prob is im not the best with a telescopic gauge and its hard to get the same number consistantly. i am good with a mic so i kno my crank mesurements r dead on. however my teacher said i need the hs bore spec to set up the bore gauge. and using a snap gauge then mic just isnt accurate enough.

ps. i do kno how to use the block letter code and numbers on the crank. to acheve the stock brng size. but i dont just wanna order the same brng then find out its too much clearence. THANKS FOR EVERYONES COMMENT!

if you dont have access to a helms manual i would contact a reputable honda engine builder and ask them. you can try emailing endyn. but hopefully someone will chime in with the specs you're looking for.
