91 DA Leak w/Pics
Ok, I have a 91 DA LS with 220,000. Just recently, I had a heater hose burst, and the car overheated. I fixed that, and everything was normal until I saw this recently. When I would drive, and then park, there would be a Quarter Sized puddle of some fluid on the ground. Very close to it, I would see a larger puddle close by. The bottom of the tranny is wet with some fluid, but I can't tell what it is. Today, I jacked it up, got underneath, and this is what I saw. That hose is wet on the end with a droplet of some lubricant of some sort.

My issue is, I can't tell what that hose goes to, what type of fluid I am leaking, and where it attaches. This picture is on the passenger side of the vehicle.

I can also take a pic of the underside of the tranny with the saturation. The red reflection is the shirt I am wearing, so the color is reflected. I will be back soon with some more pictures. Thank you in advance to anyone with some insight.
Ok if you look at your firewall somewhere in the center you will see where a black cable comes out of it. That is you speedometer cable. Follow it to your trans. It will be sort of hard to reach and you may have to remove your air intake, not the intake manifold. Your speedo cable will go into a little housing that has 2 hoses going to it. One of those hoses is the one that you have shown the pic of.
Here is where the speedo cable comes out of the firewall.

Here is a pic of the speed sensor. Its hard to see but there are 2 hoses that go to it.

I did locate those, and they dont seem to be the ones in question. They both go into a fitting, and on the other side of the fitting is metal tubing that runs underneath. This one seems to run laterally on top of the cross bar. I can't see it from the top of the motor, only underneath. On the driver's side, I see a little plastic fitting, but it doesnt connect to anything either. I think that they both run into some housing in the middle (more toward the driver's side), but it is too small a space for me to get to, or even see from underneath.
I think that part of my problem is the CV boot. It seems that where the plastic tie is, the rubber has ripped. It isnt bad yet, but some grease is coming out from underneath. Also, there is a lot of wetness near and around the drain plug, and check/fill plugs on my tranny. I haven't had the chance to get in and change the fluid yet, but that is my next venture. I appreciate your help so far though. Any ideas on the CV?

It could be the pressure balance hose on the power steering rack. It connects the boots on both ends of the rack. Look at the other end of the steering rack.. you will see the hose attached to the boot. If the boot is loaded up with fluid (a little is ok).... your rack may be shot :-(

Yeah. That sounds like it. It has a little plastic fitting clamped onto the end that looks like a T with a hole in the middle. They are both out of the boots. The passenger side one seems to be the one that is leaking. The steering itself feels ok, but would there be any audio clues whilst driving that would tip me in that direction? I haven't heard anything, but I am not sure. I bought this car recently, and there is no telling the last time these things were changed :/
