Confused on Painting wheels
Okay i have polished wheels that I want to paint, here is my question, should aircraft paint stripper always be used to take off clearcoat before painting or can I just sand it off? also Im planning to use engine paint because of the durability. Should primer also be used?

I don't know if you already started on this but I got some advice for you. Yeah it alright to use aircraft remover on your wheels but you have to be careful though. If you got tires on and once the paint start coming off you'll ruin them. Its not going to come out perfect...you'll want to sand on them after the aircraft remover. Your other option is to do a real good job sanding on your wheels before you paint them. if you decide to go this route I suggest you use a real course grit sandpaper...about 120 grit on a DA and then move to about 220 and after that 320 and it should be ready for primer. Primer isn't necessary unless the scratches are really deep and noticeable. after that it can be sprayed with color. Don't use engine paint...its crap!
