Default help with using aircraft remover, paint wont come off.

So im painting my wheels today and ive spent the last couple of hours on just two wheels trying to get them polished. ive used an entire gallon of this **** on the two wheels and it wont get the paint off. it gets a good portion of it off but there is still a thing residue of paint left. is there some technique i can use to get the paint off better? right now i just pour it on, let it sit for about 15-30 min then scrub like a bitch with a sponge and a brush. then i used soap and water twice to try and clean it off but there is still a thin residue on all the wheels. what else can i do?
