H22 EF..Take a LOOK !
I recently bought an H22 motor and non-LSD tranny from some guy who was moving out of state. I'm unsure if the motor runs or not.

I also took a look at the exhaust valves and the 2 left ones seem to have some type of white build up on them. Heres some pics, they're from left to right in order 1-4:

#1 Close up:

#2

#3

#4

Heres pics of the Intake valves (pretty clean compared to exhaust valves):

I also went ahead and took the valve cover off to see if there was any noticeable head damage, but i found none. Here's some pics:

Help a noob with some useful information.
Do i need new exhaust valves ?
Is there any noticeable damage in the head ?
Do i need new intake valves ?
Any suggestions before i put the motor in my EF ?
Im already planning to get a Euro R oil pump&water pump, new gaskets all around&new main seals, resurfacing my flywheel, pressure washing. Anything else i should do ?
I was told i needed to to a manual tensioner conversion.
Thanks HT

And you base this off of what? Your building ingenuity?
Or do you have X-ray vision which enables you to see the internals of this engine???
The white build up can be caused by bieng left open to the Elements. Moisture, dirt and all that crap.
I would at the least buy a complete gasket set and tear it down replacing all the gaskets and seals.
Make sure you buy a gasket set that has the valve stem seals and oilpan gasket. Take the head to a competent machine shop and get it checked out along with the valve stem seal replacement.

i would def drop the oil pan to make sure u dont see any pieces of metal. and use a torque wrench and try to spin the crank pulley to make sure it spins around at least.

depends on how you look at it
how about carbon build up..notice the other valves are fine
wow..
and sorry for bein a dick but if you wanna know the condition of your motor take it apart and tell us what you find.
aka cracks, grooves, colord spots
you should know if something looks shady
like maybe some rocks on your piston..
def happend to me before..i was like..hmm whats odd is this cylinder had the best compression!

sh!ft,
I think you have proven to be a complete retard over the time.
If you really don't know what is going on with a mechanicle issue just don't post.
To memory I know you have posted some Retard **** at least 800 times and have been put down for it.
"because i said so"????
That is Retard post number 801 for sh!ft
Wow, some people are retarded...
Anyways, the exhaust valves are always going to look worse than the intake valves. I would honestly just clean it up some, replace all the gaskets while it is out of the car, do a compression/leakdown test and drop it in. The compression/leakdown will tell you if the rings, valves and headgasket is good. The only way to check out the bearings would be to pull everything and look, and if you're going to do that, I would just throw new bearings in and check the clearences. If you don't feel completely comfortable with this, then I would take it to a machine shop.

Im FULLY aware how difficult it is to put the H into an EF
but time is the issue with me because i rarely got time to work on it
I will be taking the head off later on in the day, and i'll keep yall posted on anything unusual i find.
what can i clean the internals with ?..
i was thinking an air hose and some steel wool for those valves
how much would the new bearings and checking the clearences cost at a machine shop ?..

if i was u to make it easier on yourself with the swap sell the trans and go H2B its much easier to that than a straight h22 i kno from eperience thats wats in my ef and its greatness but its up to u
