if the holes aren't really that big, then yes, you can use body filler to fill in the holes.

That's not exactly true! its like what the other guy said its fine if you don't have a hole that's to big you can put body filler on it also as long as you body work is good you should be fine...but if your a noob at that then you should have a shop do it or someone with a bit of better knowledge go at it. Also welding is the full cure for it though...just whatever you can gain access to or within your budget.

If the holes aren't that big, you can use body filler and it won't crack if you do the work right, but if the holes are pretty big, then welding them up shut would be best. If you weld too hot, then you may warp the metal which will cause you to do more work than what was needed

The only thing I ever use for my body work is RAGE EVERCOAT! Its not fiberglass and sands pretty smooth along with there glazing putty...note...its blue when it comes out. I've heard rumors about fiberglass its tough and harder then **** to sand on. Like i said it doesn't look to bad from the pictures your best bet is to make sure you sand on your panels in a CROSSHATCH pattern...start with 40, 80 and lastly to get rid of those deep scratches is 120. this should level your work down nicely and smoothly...oh and make sure you have plenty of sand paper...once it gets dull replace and it'll cut so much faster. Its true also about the other guy said about welding but thats only if your welding on it for to long or tryin to make a bead thats long but in your case its ok to do spot welds.

You guys are killin me here.. First off, Welding the holes is the only CORRECT way to do this repair. Simply filling them with body filler will work fine for now but eventually it will absorb moisture from the backside and the filler will start to fail. You will see bubbles that look kinda like rust, or it will crack. If you simply insist on putting filler over these holes make sure you use a moisture resistant filler first, (All metal, Duraglass, Long and Strong, Kitty hair, Metal 2 Metal, etc.. there are a lot of them) Then use regular filler on top to finish the repair. Good Luck

^^
he is right normal polyester filler is not water resistant so moisture will get through it and will cause the metal to rust....you need to put a fiberglass filler dwn first

thoes holes arent that bad i would use a fiberglass filler first (dura-glass) then i would sand that down so its smooth and you really cant see the holes (maybe out lines of them) then i would go over that with a light body filler.

that way is the way i would do it and have done it

Welding isn't really the best way to fix those small holes....because youll burn the paint off the back of the panel and it will rust quickly.
Use short hair fiberglass filler.

Wrong, if you work in this trade then you know the ways to treat the back of the repair.

Well ok, but if you burn the factory e-coat off, gone is gone and nothing you can put on it last as long.
Why would you want to weld a hole that small anyway?, especially on a stamped curve like that, the metal is thinner then the 22ga. the factory started with and you risk the chance of making the pencil eraser size hole the size of a quarter.
He's gonna use filler there anyway, OP Tap those high spots around the holes down use the short hair to plug em'(push the stuff in there good with your paddle), then put lightweight filler over it dont listen to these guys about moisture because the paint is gonna seal it, good luck its just a small dent.
The proper way to fix any hole in any car is with a adhesive panel kit, so Whaaah!

J B weld. the damn hole shut. if it can hold in freeze plugs it can fill your hole. sand smooth. seal metal on both sides so nothing can get to it. go on from there with body work. simple easy may not be the best way to fill the holes, but it will work.

Since you won't believe me, I suggest you just go to a local quality collision shop and ask them about it. The fact that you say moisture is not a problem shows you know nothing. The paint will seal the front yes, but the moisture gets to the backside. You also do not fill holes with panel adheasive. Did you know that you can not use polyester based body filler over panel adheasive? The adheasive expands and contracts in heat at a different rate as body filler does and you will see the repair under the paint. It will come and go with temp changes. I've been doing this **** my whole life, and professionaly at a shop for the last 15 years. I am also trained and certified by PPG, Sherwin Williams, ICAR, and ASE. So you go ahead keep telling yourself that you know so much.. I was just trying to help, but some of you guys are set on thinking you know it all. So keep hacking up your rides and have fun. Drilling holes in a panel to pull a dent is old school and hack. Only old time body men from the 60's still think its a good idea.

Bwahahah you can't even spell adhesive, you expect me to believe your a certified bodywhore.
Btw OP was looking for ways other than welding, and actually were both wrong, my full time friends who have been in the business for way more than 15 years saw the holes and said a stud gun would be the way to fix those, but the holes may be a little large.
They also said something about a "eagle 2", at that point in the conversation though I was starting to nod off because body work is boring. Later Doo!

I'm a bodyman not a spelling bee champion dumbass.. And yes if the holes were smaller, you could put studs on with a stud gun, cut them off and grind it down.. And in doing so you are WELDING the hole shut genius.. Anyways thanks for the entertainment.
