Default d16z6 into a 96 hatch

to put a d16z6 into a 96 hatch what all do i have to do to convert from obd2 to obd1 just swap out the ecu or do i need to change the whole harness?

you need the harness and ecu. simplest way to do it. if you use the z6 harness and the obd II ecu. the computer will be looking for signals that arent there........so you get a CEL

there are things you can do to turn your obdII car into a obdI but most of the time that is ecu not the motor.

TO do that motor you wouldn't be able to get inspected because you would have no way to run the original OBDII ecu, unless you were able to get a OBDI harness to OBDII ecu adapter. i have not heard of this product but check around someone may make one for you

but the conversion harness...OBDII TO OBDI...its all over tuning magz lol

yes but he would need to run a OBD II ecu with a OBD I harness and that just doesn't work.

I know that there are conversion harnesses everywhere for converting OBDI ECU to OBD II harnesses there is a difference there. read your mag a little closer

you all are confusing as hell all i want to know is if the motor harness from the obd2 will work with the obd1 motor and ecu once i put a adapter on

Use obd2 engine harness, dizzy, injectors, and alternator. You'll also need obd2-obd1 conversion harness to run the ecu and you're set.
