yeah, steel wool works to get hard water stains off. So it should be able to get anything off. just makes sure its nice and wet
sounds like you have never tried it. ive been doing it for years and as long as you use a fine steel wool, you wont scratch anything. oh and dont use it on the inside. only the outside of the window. on most cars, the inside of the windshield had a plastic layer that will scratch.
i tried steel wool on water stains, but i didnt think it would work on caked on dirt. i guess i can do that. since i know its safe and effective.

try a product called bio-clean. I originally found it through my honda dealer when I parked my Odyssey too close to a sprinkler on vacation and spotted the crud out of my windows. It worked great, I know use it on my shower doors and such. I have seen it at a local glass shop as well, it was cheaper at honda. Dont try it on paint it dont work as its abraisive. I have heard toothpaste works as well.. have not tried that.
used to work @ a detail shop (not like $25 hand wash like $200+ detail jobs) we used fine steel wool all time, NEVER had issues
Thanks. i just did the steel wool trick. it worked good, but i still see alittle bit of residue still left behind. either way its way better then before.
will look into that bio-clean and the purple power. Thanks for the quick responses and help.
