gsr is slower after being rebuilt with ctr pistons
I am running a gsr block b16 head. I rebuilt the bottom end and installed ctr pistons. i have driven it about 150 miles. I got on it once and it felt considerably slower then before. (stock bottom end with worn rings). i havent done a compression test yet but will the motor slowly get stronger through the break in process?

If you already drove it 150 miles, the "break in" period is done.
So, you increased the compression, didn't get the car tuned for the change, yet wonder why it feels slower...
Get the car on a dyno, get it tuned, and find out exactly what it is making. The butt dyno is a very insensitive tool at best, and a complete liar at worst.

well at the same time i was getting on it so was my buddy in his si. lol. Before i rebuilt it the motor smoked horribly but i would still beat him by about a car and a half. Now he beat me by about two cars. I raised the compression and got much slower.....
Get to a dyno and get a tune PLEASE for the sake of the motor
Keep in mind your timing maps may have to be adjusted for the compression you are running, as well as your fuel requirements.
I dont understand how someone can rebuild that motor and raise the compression and not know enough they need a tune. Also ctr pistons were a bad choice you should of just gone with jdm itr pistons.

12.7 isn't high?
Considering 12.5 is pushing the limits of pump gas, unless your tuned, your really in another world..
I run 12.8CR on mine, but my car, is tuned, very well, at full and partial throttle..
one lean spot, could melt a piston specially CTR's which are garbage in the first place.
Why would you rebuild?? With ctrs.. that piston is entirely too heavy, and no tot mention it distorts the flame front and it doesn't allow for proper combustion..

I did a compression test today. it was at about 180 miles. it was 175 185 175 175. ive had different explanations most saying that it will slowly gain compression as you drive it and a few others said the rings should of already seated and something is wrong. The rings were put on correctly. I'm hoping it will slowly get better.
It will never run properlly untill you tune the motor! and running it hard in vtec is ruining the motor! those pistons give a **** load of compression and makes piston to valve clearence real close! thats why jdm itr pistons work better! you need to get your ecu chipped to tune the motor period! what are the rest of your mods?

if you don't tune this soon it won't be alive long enough to complain about
timing and a/f NEED to be adjusted. there is a good chance with this much compression the stock map will have too much timing and god knows where the AF is. burned valves and melted pistons happen when you do crap like this.
